Wellness Program
Our wellness support group is a program for people who have been previously diagnosed with a serious mental illness, and are trying to find a balance in everyday life. Weekly meetings help group members navigate stressful life situations, celebrate successes, and work through relapses and low periods. The Wellness group also regularly discusses the stigma surrounding mental illness, and how individuals struggling with mental illness can build supportive, respectful relationships with family and friends through education.

Anger Management for Women
Our six-week supportive program helps women learn how to understand the complexities of anger, how anger goes awry, how to change their experiences of anger, and how to respond to another person’s anger. However, this course not only deals with anger, but stress management in general. Group discussions and worksheets allow women to understand and acknowledge that life comes with complications, but with the proper tools, and conditioning, we can change our pool of responses from negative to positive. Other topics relating to the subject of anger will also be explored such as self-esteem, assertiveness, anxiety, and depression.

Information and Referral Program
The Information and Referral Program addresses the many calls (or drop-ins) that re received from individuals or family members/friends of individuals who have a mental illness. Most calls are from individuals who need to know that someone cares and that there are options and resources available either at the Canadian Mental Health Association or in the community. CMHA has a tracking system in place that records all related incoming calls, as well as the nature of the call. This system also measures services that need the most attention.
